Ibstock & Barlestone Surgeries are seeking two new members to join our friendly, hardworking and forward thinking Patient Services Team.

There are 2 positions available:

  • 30 hours/4 days per week (Monday – Friday) working between the hours of 7:00am and 6:30pm across both sites
  • 22.5 hours/3 days per week (Monday – Friday) working between the hours of 7:00am and 6:30pm across both sites

We are a busy teaching and training practice with over 11,000 patients. Our innovative multidisciplinary team includes 5 GP Partners, 2 Emergency Care Practitioners, 4 Nurse Practitioners, 3 Health Care Assistants, 2 Pharmacists, Registrars and a Dispensary Team who are all supported by our Patient Services Team.

 

What we look for in your application:

  • Experience in a face paced customer service role
  • IT Skills (knowledge of SystmOne would be advantageous, however training is provided)
  • Positive and proactive approach to work, with the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to abide by strict confidentiality guidelines and legislation and the responsibility this brings

 

This is a challenging and rewarding role requiring initiative, intelligence, excellent communication skills, tact and discretion and provides a range of administration duties such as:

  • Ensure an effective, professional and efficient service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice
  • Booking, cancelling and amending appointments. Including taking basic clinical details and signposting patients
  • Dealing with general enquiries via multiple platforms including but not limited to face to face, email, SMS text message, the clinical system, letter and telephone
  • Processing prescription requests in line with practice guidelines
  • Adding patient correspondence and coding data onto the clinical system

IT & Training Support Officer

An exciting new position has been created for an IT & Training Support Officer to join our friendly, hardworking and forward thinking practice team for 4 or 5 days per week (Monday – Friday).

 

This role is ideal for an established receptionist/administrator wishing to take the next step in their career.

 

We are a busy teaching and training practice with over 11,000 patients. Our innovative multidisciplinary team includes 5 GP Partners, 2 Emergency Care Practitioners, 4 Nurse Practitioners, 3 Health Care Assistants, 2 Pharmacists, Registrars and a Dispensary team who are all supported by our Patient Services Team. This is an opportunity to join our team at an exciting time; we have some big plans for the future which include an extension and re-design to make our premises amongst the best in LLR.

 

The successful candidate will have excellent IT skills, exhibit good organisational skills and possess the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of healthcare professionals and other stakeholders. The ability to train staff would be useful and a willingness to embrace new technology is essential for this post.

 

Your duties will involve getting to know the clinical system (SystmOne) inside and out so you are able to train new users to the Practice and support the current staff members.  You will also be responsible for other third party software and hardware and general daily issues that may arise. Other responsibilities include:

 

  • Set up new user accounts for IT systems
  • Provide statistical data as requested by the practice team inclusive of specialist searches and audits
  • Assist management team in achieving QoF targets, ensuring registers are correct and checking coding and reviewing prevalence
  • Be responsible for ensuring monthly recalls are undertaken in line with practice requirements
  • Ensure the practice website and social media is current and reflects the objectives of the practice
  • Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice
  • Provide cover to the Patient Services Team on an occasional basis
  • Liaise with the phone company when issues arise or changes are needed
