A new Government WhatsApp Coronavirus Information Service has been launched.

The purpose of this product is to combat the spread of misinformation propagated through WhatsApp on an Official Government channel. To use the service, members of the public simply add +44 7860 064422 to their contacts and send a WhatsApp message saying “Hi”. Please promote this service through your channels.

Hearing Aid Batteries - new process


We will not be giving out hearing aid batteries at this time to save patients coming to the surgery and so saving them from making unnecessary journeys. Instead please contact the Hearing Services team directly on 0116 258 6230 or email hearingservices@uhl-tr.nhs.uk and they will arrange for some to be posted directly to the patients home address. This will continue until further notice.

Shielded patients information

In addition for Barlestone dispensing patients who are in the at-risk group and required to shield for 12 weeks we are providing a medicines delivery service.  If you are a patient in this group and have no other means of getting your medication please call us so we can provide you with home delivery.

The new mental health Central Access Point  (CAP) phone service

24 hour NHS Phone Support for all urgent mental health needs

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust has launched a dedicated phone line so that people of all ages in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland can access urgent NHS mental health support directly.

The 0116 295 3060 service is for people of all ages – including existing and previous service users and people who have never used  mental health services before.

New NHS App to help with aches and pains of the muscles, bones or joints 

There is a new app available to download on your smart device (phone or tablet) to help you manage aches and pains.  It covers four areas of the body: back, neck, upper limb and lower limb.  In each area there are videos showing useful exercises you can do anywhere.  Search on your app store for Musculoskeletal MSK Self-Care.  The icon has the NHS logo and MSK beneath it in blue.

Access to Dental Services during Covid-19

If you need dental help please don't ring the surgery, please call your own dentist and they will advise you what to do. If you don't have a regular dentist please see the poster below for what to do.
