We are receiving a large number of enquiries by ‘phone, email and on our Facebook pages with regard to priority group 5, the 65-69 year olds and priority group 6, adults aged 16-65 in an at-risk group.
As of the 17th February, we have 423 patients in group 5 still to invite and 1268 patients in group 6 to invite. This is going to take a considerable amount of time.
We would request patients not to contact us to ask if they are on the list for group 6. We will contact you if you are on the list although it may be several weeks before we get to you. Thank you for your support with this.
For Group 6, adults aged 16-65 in an at-risk group.
We have started inviting these patients to Measham Leisure centre for their vaccinations. These are broadly the same group who are eligible for a flu vaccination each year. The significant difference is patients who have asthma. The criteria does not include all patients who have asthma, only those who fit the following:
- anyone who has ever had an emergency asthma admission or;
- those who have an asthma diagnosis and have had 3 prescriptions for oral steroids over a 3-month period (each prescription must fall within separate individual month windows), as an indication of repeated or continuous oral steroids.
For group 5, the 65-69 year olds
These patients will be receiving a letter inviting them to use the national booking service to book an appointment at another vaccination site around Leicestershire. If you prefer, you can wait for us to call you to book you in at Measham Leisure centre.
We would ask you politely not to call us if you are calling to ask about a Covid vaccination. Instead please wait for our call.
For more information on when you may be called, please follow this link: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-vaccination-care-home-and-healthcare-settings-posters/covid-19-vaccination-first-phase-priority-groups
See our Covid Vaccinations page for more information. This page will be updated regularly.
We are returning to Essential Services only
Due to the continuing increase in Covid cases, the third national lockdown and starting to provide Covid vaccinations, we have reluctantly taken the decision to reduce our service levels.
We have done this to keep patients and staff as safe as possible and ensure that we can vaccinate as many of our patients as quickly as possible. Although vaccinations are not taking place at the practice, our staff are working at the local vaccination hub.
We are cancelling all but essential tests and reviews and will only be asking patients to come for a face to face appointment when there is no other alternative.
Our Barlestone branch will remain open for the collection of medications from the dispensary but all other services there have been suspended for the moment.
We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause but feel it is the safest course of action at present.

Welcome to our practice website. There's lots of useful information on this site about our practice and your health. If you're new to the area we would love to have you as one of our patients. Please see the 'New Patients' part of this site for details.
We are a training practice and so we regularly have fully qualified doctors who are now training to become GPs working with us. We also regularly participate in research studies to help improve medicine for everybody.
Patients with a special need or requirement
If you have a disability, impairment or sensory loss please let any of our clinicians or staff know. We will then arrange to communicate with you in a way that suits you best. We will also add a note to your patient record so we are aware of this for the future.
